My grandmother was Eileen Mary Corcoran Dempsey. Her brother, Frank Corcoran died in the flu epidemic in 1918. My grandmother was living in New York, maybe Brooklyn at this time. Frank died at camp Upton on Long Island after six months in the service. He was sent to infirmary on November first not feeling very sick, and his obituary was printed on the 9th.

My grandmother later married my grandfather, Charles Vincent Dempsey, who owned a pharmacy and was a Pharmacist in Paterson, NJ. My mother, Ann Noreen Dempsey Ward was born in 1923 and she was their second of four children.
